August Updates
August Updates: New Fields, Faster Syncs & Smarter Employee Directories 🚀
New Fields: Employee Type & Employee ID 💼 #️⃣

You can now add Employee Type and Employee ID fields to profiles in OneDirectory.
- Employee Type: Store and display worker type (e.g., Employee or Contractor).
- Employee ID: Store and display an internal employee number or identifier.
Both fields are synced from Microsoft 365 by default, but can also be made editable in OneDirectory. They’re optional and disabled by default, allowing you to control whether this information is visible to all employees.
To enable: Go to Settings → Fields → Job Information, then toggle them on.
Priority Processing for Manual Syncs 👌

We’ve improved sync performance with a new priority queue.
Previously, all syncs (scheduled, manual, and trial) shared the same queue which could sometimes cause delays. ⏳
Now, manual syncs are prioritized and processed immediately, so your updates start without delay.

The challenge isn’t just finding people, it’s finding the right people, fast, with the right context.
Generic tools often fall short because they can’t handle the complexity of:
- Titles, teams, and reporting lines
- Skills, dotted-line relationships, and subsidiaries
- Clean, continuously synced people data
This guide explores:
- Why lightweight directories break at scale
- What IT and HR leaders actually need
- The blueprint for a true enterprise directory
- How OneDirectory fits in
